Does Christianity Agree With The Bible?

Most Christian churches have a charter of doctrines which define their faith. Most of these churches hold certain beliefs in common. The following is a comparative list of doctrines and practices observed and believed by most of Christianity. How do they line up with what the Scriptures have to say?

Christian doctrine #1: The Lord God is the Father, Jesus Christ is the son.

From the scriptures:

Proverbs 30:4 - Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?

Fact: יהוה (YHWH) is the name of the Father, יהושע (Yahushua) is the name of his son, the Messiah. They are both Hebrew names. This truth can be proven by looking in the dictionary at the back of a Strong's Concordance under Hebrew #3068 and Greek #2424.

John 12:13 Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of  יהוה (YHWH).

Acts 2:38 Then Kepha (Peter) said unto them, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Yahushua the Messiah for the forgiveness of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the set-apart (holy) Spirit."

Christian doctrine #2: Sunday (the first day of the week) is to be observed as the day of worship.

Exodus 20:8 Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it set-apart (holy). 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the Sabbath of יהוה thy Elohim.

Hebrews 4:9 (ASV) There remaineth therefore a sabbath rest for the people of יהוה.

Fact: The Sabbath is the 7th day of the week, commonly called Saturday. This can be proven by looking up the word "Saturday" in most English dictionaries.

Christian doctrine #3: Christmas should be celebrated as the birthday of the saviour.

Jeremiah 10:2 Thus saith יהוה, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. 3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

Fact: December 25 is not the birthday of the saviour. This can be shown by the fact that the shepherds were out tending to their sheep in the field at night (Luke 2:8). Notice what commentator Adam Clarke writes regarding this:

It was a custom among the Jews to send out their sheep to the deserts [wilderness], about the Passover [spring], and bring them home at the commencement of the first rain [autumn]: during the time they were out, the shepherds watched them night and day.

Christian doctrine #4: Easter is the celebration of the saviour’s resurrection.

According to Webster’s New World Dictionary of the American Language: Easter is the name of the Dawn goddess. The book of Ezekiel alludes to the tradition of the sunrise service on Easter Sunday…

Ezekiel 8:16 And he brought me into the inner court of YHWH's house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of YHWH, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of YHWH, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.

Fact: Everything about Easter, from the bunny and the eggs to the sunrise worship, is pagan in origin, and does not originate in the Scriptures. The saviour, Yahushua the Messiah, is the Passover lamb (Ex 12:1-13; Rev 7:14)

The feast days of YHWH are what we should celebrate, rather than learning the ways of the heathen...The 23rd chapter of Leviticus details the feast days of YHWH.

Christian doctrine #5. We are now allowed to eat things such as the pig and other things that were once forbidden in the scriptures, because they were made clean.

Fact: YHWH’s children are still required to follow the dietary food laws found in Leviticus chapter 11.

Paul says, concerning the idea of forbidding people from eating certain foods…

1Timothy 4:4 - For every creature of YHWH is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: 5 For it is sanctified by the word of YHWH and prayer.

Paul says that every creature of YHWH is good and not to be refused, because it is sanctified (set apart) by the word of YHWH and prayer. How is it set apart by the word of YHWH? In Leviticus 11, the word of YHWH tells us what we can and cannot eat, and YHWH does not change!...

Malachi 3:6 - For I am YHWH, I change not.

For more information on this subject, see The dietary food law (does it still apply)?

Yahushua makes it very clear, concerning all of the law of YHWH, and that includes the dietary food laws...

Matthew 5:17 - Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill (perform). 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Those are very powerful words spoken by the Saviour! No matter what verse one might pull from the new testament, if it seems to go against these words spoken by Yahushua, then something must be wrong! Either the verse is being misinterpreted, or the verse does not belong in the scriptures! Just as the heavenly Father does not change, neither does Yahushua the Messiah change…

Hebrews 13:8 - Yahushua the Messiah the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Paul made the following comment…

Galatians 1:8 - But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other evangel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

It should be plain to see that everything preached by Paul must agree with whatever Yahushua the Messiah preached and the entire Word of YHWH, or by his own words, he is to be accursed!

This article was written for those who are sincerely searching for truth. Yahushua said…

Matthew 5:6 - Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

This article was not written to condemn anyone! It is shared in the spirit of truth and it is our prayer that it will be received in the same way. Yahushua said…

Matthew 7:7 - Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
